Masters rowing at LMRC is for individuals 21 years and older. It provides club members with the opportunity to row on a casual exercise basis or competitively. Masters can row competitively in men’s, women’s, or mixed boats in both sculling and sweep rowing. Participation in masters rowing is a great way for rowers of any age to get exercise, but camaraderie is also an important aspect of the club. The friendly atmosphere encourages all members to become involved in the club’s many activities.
Members of the masters programs regularly participate in major regattas such as the San Diego Crew Classic, Head of the Charles, Southwest Regional Championships, and Masters National Championships. They also regularly compete in many events around the Bay Area, as well as in Sacramento, Petaluma, Lake Tahoe, and at LMRC’s own regatta, the Lake Merritt Sprints.
