FEES, DEADLINES and RULES TO LIVE BY
Entry deadline (must be received by): Wednesday, July 15th, 1998
Make or print additional copies as needed.
If entering masters events, please indicate rowers' date of birth as of
December 31 and
average age of boat. Entries received after July 15 will be
assessed a 100% penalty, and admission will be on a space-available
basis. Make checks payable to the Lake Merritt Rowing Club.
No entries will be accepted on race day. No exceptions. No changes
to boat personnel will be accepted within two hours of the scheduled
race.
| Fees Per Event: | 1X | 2X/- |
4X/+ | 8+ |
| rec'd < July 16 | $17.00 | $26.00 |
$40.00 | $64.00 |
| rec'd > July 16 | $34.00 | $52.00 | $80.00 |
$128.00 |
Note: A single organization whose entry fees total $250 or more is
eligible for a 25% discount. All boats must be racing for the same
organization, and all entries must be received together with the fee
by July 15. For example, if Marin Rowing Association entries received together
total $400.00, they can deduct 25% of 400 and pay $300.00
(400-(400 x .25)=300).
Nota Bene: Boats composed entirely of Lake Merritt
Rowing Club members in good standing are eligible for a 50% discount
if the entry fee is received by July 15. Otherwise, the full 100%
penalty applies.
We at Lake Merritt Rowing Club strive to make race day enjoyable for all competitors
and race volunteers by maximizing opportunities for competitors to race, running
races on time, reducing confusion over entries, competitors, and lane assignments,
and by quickly producing accurate race results. To facilitate our goal of
running a smooth regatta, we have developed the following RULES TO LIVE BY:
- Scratches will be charged $25 for each race scratched. If you must scratch,
please let the Registrar know as soon as possible.
- There is an additional entry fee for changing races a boat is entered in.
For example, if a women's 4+ is entered in the 4+ WO race and wants to switch
to the 4+ WOL race, an additional fee equal to the full price of the new event,
including late entry penalty fees, if applicable, will be charged. The
original 4+ WO entry would be considered a scratch and assessed a $25 fee.
- No more than 50% of the competitors entered in a boat may be changed. For
example, if an eight is entered, no more than four commpetitors may be replaced
in the boat. No competitors can be substituted in single scull races.
- All competitor changes must be submitted to the Registrar at least two hours
before the scheduled start of the race. No competitor changes will be accepted
within two hours of the scheduled start of the race.
- Talking to the Registrar does not constitute an entry. Entries are considered
received and accepted by the Registrar if the complete entry, including fees, is received
prior to race day and there is space remaining in the race at the time the entry is
received.
- No entries will be accepted on the Saturday before race day or on race day.
There are no exceptions to this rule.
- If we must cancel an event due to insufficient entries, the contact person on
the entry form will be notified and the entry fees will be refunded.
REMEMBER:
- Entries must be received by July 15 to register at the lowest rate.
- Late entries will be accepted with a 100% surcharge on a space-available basis.
- Read the RULES TO LIVE BY. THE REGISTRAR WILL FOLLOW THEM.
- No entries will be accepted on Saturday, July 25, or Sunday, July 26.
- Bring bow numbers.
