We are looking forward to seeing you at the 1998 Lake Merritt Sprints Regatta, Sunday July 26 at Lake Merritt in Oakland. This year we will again have a full day of racing, with the first race going off at 7:30 and the last race at around 3 p.m.
As always, we will do our best to accommodate all comers. Although we will try to keep the sequence on the enclosed preliminary schedule; we usually have to make some adjustments based on the actual entries received, the need for heats, scratched events, and so on. The contact person listed on the entry form will be notified of scratches and rescheduling of events.
All races will be 1000 meters. Stake boats will be in place, with a six lane buoyed course. You may expect races to go to heats, so register early to assure a place. Races will not be delayed for late arrivals, and BOW NUMBERS ARE REQUIRED (bring your own). This is not a USRA registered regatta, but USRA recommendations for safety will be followed (bow balls and heel tie-downs or quick-release shoes are required).
A map of the lake and environs and prior year race results will be included with the final regatta mailing.
