THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Thanks to all of you that came down and participated. We had nearly 500 athletes competing in over 50 events. It was a wonderful day at the lake. Although the day seemed to start out somewhat overcast, the sun seemed to show more of itself with each race that ran.

We would like to thank all the volunteers who worked so hard over the past few months and days to make this event a reality. This event was only possible with the support and volunteers from Lake Merritt Rowing Club, Marin Rowing Association and Los Gatos Rowing Club. A special thanks goes to them for their hard work helping us with the course and on regatta day.

Special thanks goes to the Official Referees, without whom we never could carry out such an event, a very special thanks. In particular I would like to thank Stan Shawl, our head USRA referee. For the past few years Stan has successfully recruited an outstanding team that keeps the regatta on time and the event safe!

Special thanks to Oakland Swift Water Rescue whose presence ensured everyone's safety during this event. Behind the scenes, we had the invaluable support and assistance of the Oakland Parks and Recreation Department, making sure the sprinklers didn't come on at the wrong time, keeping the Lakeside area clean, and providing a launch and driver to help cover the racing on the lake. Thanks also to Oakland Strokes who generously lent us launches and engines.

Special thanks to Fine Designs, who designed and sold our t-shirts this year. Thank you to our vendor, JL. Their participation at the regatta was a welcome and needed addition. Also thanks goes to Margaret Fago who displayed her wonderful watercolor artwork. Thanks goes to Regatta Central who handled registration; their support keeps an event this large manageable. A special recognition of appreciation goes to the Regatta Committee. This is a dedicated group that comes together every year to make the event seem so seamless and easy to host. This years Regatta Committee included Shirley Doell, Nancy Blom, Jill McIntire, Tori Decker, Judy Udove, Ann Macdonald, Debra Bonnefin, Cindy Ladd, Wendy Morrison, Pam Kaull, Dave Haddick, Alan Kirshbaum, and Dennis Watt.

Again thanks again to everyone who made this event a pleasure to run.
