THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Thank you to everyone that helped make the 2005 Southwest Regional s a successful regatta. We would like to thank all the volunteers who worked so hard over the past few months and days to make this event a reality. This event was only possible with the support and volunteers from Marin Rowing Association and Los Gatos Rowing Club. A special thanks goes to them for their hard work helping us with the course and on regatta day.
Special thanks to Paul Wilkins at USRA. We are extremely grateful to Paul for miraculously handling all of registration, scheduling and race results. We also thank US Rowing for all their support for this regatta. To the Official Referees, without whom we never could carry out such an event, a very special thanks. Kudos on their ability to keep the regatta on time!
Special thanks to Oakland Swift Water Rescue whose presence ensured everyone's safety during this event. Behind the scenes, we had the invaluable support and assistance of the Oakland Parks and Recreation Department, making sure the sprinklers didn't come on at the wrong time, keeping the Lakeside area clean, and providing a launch and driver to help cover the racing on the lake. Thanks also to Oakland Strokes who generously lent us launches and engines.
Thanks go out to Jim Varner of Code 3 Wireless Networks. Jim showed up at the lake the day before the regatta and generously offered to try out his video system. Many of you stopped by Jim's truck and could watch the races come down the course from the 500m mark. Jim is able to zoom in and replay events. We hope to see Jim again at Sprints with the system covering the start to the finish line!
Special thanks to Fine Designs, who designed and sold our t-shirts this year.
Thank you to our vendor, JL. Their participation at the regatta was a welcome and needed addition. A final thanks goes to Regatta Central who handles registration and to
Race Trak where results can be found as the regatta runs!
Again thanks again to everyone who made this event a pleasure to run. I hope to see you all in a few weeks at LMRC Sprints.
